WHY
DO WE STAND WHEN WE SING?
Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts
of the house of our God. Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing
praises unto his name; for it is pleasant. (Psalms 135:2-3)
WHY
DO WE CLAP OUR HANDS?
Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with
cries of joy. (Psalms 47:1)
WHY
DO WE LIFT OUR HANDS?
Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the
LORD. (Psalms 134:2)
Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my
hands in thy name. (Psalms 63:4)
WHY
DO WE BOW DOWN AND KNEEL?
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel
before the Lord our maker. (Psalms 95:6)
WHY
DO WE AUDIBLY PRAISE UNTO GOD?
I will bless the Lord at all times, - his praise shall
continually be in my mouth (Psalms 34:1)
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands
(Psalms 100:1)
WHY
DO WE SING IN TONGUES AND IN ENGLISH?
For I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but
my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the
Spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also; I will sing with
the Spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. (I Cor
14:14-15)
WHY
DO WE HAVE THIS TYPE OF WORSHIP?
God is a spirit and they worship Him must worship Him
in spirit and in truth (John 4:24)
For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the
Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the
flesh (Philippians 3:3)
WHY
DO WE SPEAK AND HAVE THE INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES?
I Cor 12:7-10; I Cor 14:5, 27; Acts 2:1-4; Wherefore,
brethren, covet to prophesy and forbid not to speak in tongues (I Cor
14:39)
WHY
ARE MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS PART OF THE WORSHIP SERVICE?
Praise him
with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings
and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with
resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD. (Psalms 150:3-6)
WHY DOES THE WHOLE CHURCH PRAY AT ONCE FOR SPECIFIC
NEEDS?
And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to
God with one accord and said Lord thou art God which hast made heaven
and earth and the sea and all that in them is (Acts 2:4)
WHY
DO WE ANOINT WITH OIL AND PRAY FOR THE SICK?
Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of
the church and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the
name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick and the
Lord shall raise him up: and if he have committed sins, they shall be
forgiven him (James 5:14-15)
Anointing
- The presence and the work of the Holy Spirit in our life, which
empowers us with supernatural effectiveness for Godly service (Luke
4:18; I John 2:27).
Anointing
with Oil
- Olive oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit used to anoint for healing,
for ordination, and for restoration. The power of God is released
through faith, and the oil is symbolic for God's presence (James
5:14-15; Mark 6:13; Exodus 25:5-9; Luke 10:33-34).
Apostolic
– The New Testament order of ministry whereby the Word of God is
ministered in power and in demonstration and authority to change the
spiritual atmosphere, to raise the quality of the lives of those in
the environment and to disrupt and destroy religious systems and
spiritual wickedness within a community, region, etc. (Matt 4:23; Acts
4:33, 5:12)
Glory
- The manifestation of God's presence in the midst of God's people.
The charged atmosphere in which God performs supernatural works upon
our spirit, mind or body (I Kings 8:10-11).
Rejoice
in the Lord
– Expressions of dancing, singing, clapping of hands, laughing, tears,
etc. as expressions of our praising and worshipping the Lord. (2
Samuel 6:16; Psalm 47:1, 63:4; 103:1, 134:2, 126:2).
Giving
Time
- An act of worship during which we demonstrate our gratitude for the
financial blessing God has provided. At the moment we give, we
actually position ourselves for receiving (Malachi 3:7-12, Luke
6:38).
The
Tithe
- The first dime of each dollar, the first one-tenth of all our
increase, which is holy and consecrated unto God. (Deuteronomy 8:18;
Isaiah 48:17; Malachi 3:10-12; Matthew 23:23).
The
Offering -
Our monetary sacrifice to God, which is over and above our tithe,
given in appreciation and by our 'free will' (Exodus 22:29-30; Malachi
3:3; Psalms 27:6; 2 Corinthians 9:6-8). The tithe and offerings are
the biblical order for the support of the minister and the ministry.
And is God’s plan for economic empowerment.
Occupy
– To advance and seize. To spread out in one’s influence until the
presence of God is thoroughly felt in their environment.
Kingdom
of God –
The Sovereign rule of God in one’s environment. |
